On the East Coast of Zanzibar

  • Mnemba Island Lodge – is the centre of exclusivity. At its centre is a tropical forest, home to nothing more dangerous than cute, spaniel-sized suni antelope and butterflies. Ten very private bandas, made of hand-woven coconut palm and local timber overlook the beach from the forest's edge. These are large, airy and open-plan. The unique kind of set-up for a true family beach holiday. You need to share the memories with them, you would never forgive yourself if you didn’t. Open from 1 June to 31 March yearly.

  • Sultan Palace – one of Zanzibar’s most elegant lodges offering style and comfort for the whole family. It sits at the northern end of a pristine beach, atop a high coral cliff. The entrance and main reception is a fantastic structure, with high white walls and huge arched doorways. Not only do you feel like you are arriving at Aladdin’s palace, you can choose 1 of the 15 air-conditioned suites to sleep like loyalty – four Ocean, four Garden and five Imperial. Open yearly from 1 July to 31 March.

On the Northern Coat of Zanzibar

  • Kilindi – one of the best hotels in Zanzibar. Its design is unique and quite different from properties found elsewhere on the island. It has 15 Pavilions which are incredibly spacious and airy. Kilindi manages to combine elegance and sophistication without being pretentious. It’s a place to relax and be pampered in a quiet area of Zanzibar. Perfect for honeymoon and wellbeing holidays too because it does not accept children. Only open from June to March annually.

On the South-west Coast of Zanzibar

  • Unguja Lodge – is a small, relaxed and family-friendly lodge in a lovely spot overlooking the picturesque Menai Bay Conservation area. The beach at Unguja is completely covered at high tide - with the sea coming right up and lapping at the steps. However, you may take a 10 minute walk to a nearby stretch of beach and clear turquoise waters and bathe. During the low tide sun loungers are placed out along the beach. There are three different room types - three Baobab Villas, seven Seaview Villas and two sea view family houses. Open from June to April annually.
