Weekly blog on all things travel this week- 12 Nov21
Good morning everyone!
Here’s wishing you all a happy Friday and another week closer to the festive season and a much needed break.
This week we have the following for you:
- CEMAIR has ploughed over a million rand into the upgrade/maintenance of Plett airport which is great news as it means direct flights will once again resume from Joburg to Cape Town. The airline has said during off season there will be 1 flight a day and in peak season 2.
- Sanparks has announced that South African citizens can enter most but not all parks around the country free of charge from the 22nd-28th November. Free access will be at Addo Elephant Park, the Tsitisikamma side of the Garden Route National Parks, Kgalagadi and the Kruger National Park.
- Recently there has been some confusion with regards to the compulsory PCR test required when returning back to SA. There have been rumours circulating on Facebook that these rules have now been relaxed but this is certainly NOT the case and as per normal you will need one done 72 hours before you return back to the country.
- A positive sign that things are slowly ramping up in the travel industry is the news that Kulula is ramping up flight schedules between Cape Town and Durban to two flights a day. ON the international front Singapore Airline just announced they will be adding flight to a 6th flight to Joburg.
Well that is all the latest developments happening at the moment. I hope you have a tremendous weekend and chat soon!
